摘要
Since poly(1-butene) was prepared, it has been adopted as an engineering material in many fields. Its popularity is attributed to excellent resistance to creep and stress cracking, good thermoplastic properties, high softening point, low solubility in common solvents, and negligible water absorption. However, poly(1-butene) is less resistant to oxidative degradation, because of a number of labile tertiary hydrogen atoms in its structure. The degradation is also markedly accelerated under solar radiation and this has placed a severe limitation on its long-term use out-of-doors. This paper reviews a survey of the literature indicates that no review has been published on this import aspect, therefore, in the present publication we review the studies of studies of degradation and stabilization of poly(1-butene) to the present date. The survey is presented in three parts - introduction; degradation and stabilization (with antioxidants).
