摘要：
The relation between the covering and fume compositions involving various elements was studied by analyzing the fumes from commercial electrodes. Results were then studied together with observations by a high speed camera and consideration of fume generating phenomena and mechanisms. The fume composition with nonlime type coverings is regulated by vaporization from the molten metal surface at the tip of the electrode; that of lime type is regulated by vaporization from the molten slag surface.
