摘要
Due to the easy-to-understand principle on which it functions and the usually inexpensive apparatus involved, adhesion based on electrostatic forces is becoming more and more important in technical fields. Electrostatic methods are particularly suitable for bring about the adhesion of powders, fibers and films. Depending on the type of material (metal or insulator) and the shape of the electrostatic field, adhesion is based on pure forces of field, the formative forces occurring only on metal surfaces and the forces exerted by field gradients. Electrostatic adhesive forces find practical application when coating with materials in powder form, in electrostatic flock-finishing processes and when precipitating or separating dust or other fine-grained material.
