摘要
Various properties of three kinds of aluminum rolling mill rolls are discussed. Continuous caster shells should have a high resistance to thermal fatigue, which depends on the hot strength and thermal conductivity. Such properties of three steel grades were compared. The modification of the chemical composition and decrease of inclusions by LF treatment settled build up phenomenon on the surface of aluminum hot work rolls. Grindability of aluminum cold/foil rolls is influenced by the content of hard inclusions in the steel. Superior grindability of the rolls can be obtained by decreasing them.
