Information is given on the characterization of Karaganda coals by various methods - the yield of liquid phase of the plastic mass, plastometric indices, microcokability, and group composition of the liquid phase. An all-sided evaluation of coals of complex petrographic composition as a raw material for the production of coke is possible only by using a group of methods reflecting various aspects of the coke-forming process. 7 refs.
