Results are presented of a study of the structure and properties of the surface film formed during epoxy glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) friction against steel. X-Ray diffraction analysis shows that during film formation its structure becomes more highly ordered in comparison with the basic material and approaches the structure of graphite, which is indicated by the appearance on the GRP surface layer diffractograms of reflexes with indexes (002), (101), (112). Transfer of the carbon film to the surface of the counterbody is noted.
