PLACID PUSHING DUTCH NORTH SEA GAS PROJECT.

Placid International Oil is pioneering the development activity for gas discoveries in the Dutch section of the North Sea. The company is proceeding rapidly with a sizable 1974 construction effort in order to meet its schedule for commencing deliveries from its Block L-10/11 license next January. Heart of the offshore production facility will be a 3-platform, bridge-connected complex that includes the ″A″ drilling platform, the production platform and Noordgastransport's riser platform. The ″A″ complex will be continuously attended operations center for all production activities. The two satellite well protector platforms and all future satellite well protector or drilling platforms are being designed for unattended service. Operation of the unattended platforms will be closely monitored from the ″A″ complex control room through use of a sophisticated supervisory control system employing a Honeywell H-316 digital computer and Honeywell's Vupak Data Acquisition and Set Point Control software packages.
