摘要
The results show that structures of aluminum and magnesium alloys up to 60mm thick can be welded efficiently by welding (without edge preparation) with an immersed arc using a non-consumable electrode. This procedure results in high quality welded joints with a small number of defects. It is shown that consumable electrode welding with an immersed arc is also highly efficient in welding components of comparatively small thickness (5. 0-10. 0mm). In this case it is not necesary to use filler wire (strength factor 0. 90-0. 95). The results show that the stability of the welding process and, consequently, the probability of producing high quality welded joints are determined by a limited range of the welding parameters.
