摘要：
A review of the literature presented deals with the analysis of existing methods for the design of raft foundations. Existing methods make use of elastic half space or simplified elastic supporting systems. The development of a method capable of analysing cross anisotropic layered systems provides a means for a more rational analysis of raft foundations.
