WHAT DOES THE INDUSTRY NEED?

A survey of the felt needs for technological improvements most needed in greige mills is reported. Twenty items are listed, ranging in importance from noise reduction as most necessary to higher rotor spinning speeds as least. Items two through six, in descending order, are automatic doffing for ring spinning, better card sliver regularity, better opening and cleaning equipment for cotton, improved dust control/air handling systems, and higher production on weaving.
