摘要
A new generation of high-speed trains (HGZ) is at present being developed for the passenger traffic on the newly constructed sections of the German Federal Railway. The test train 'Intercity - Experimental' (ICE), a conceptual precursor of these new trains is at present under construction and will be introduced to the public in the Autumn of 1985. The ICE is an electric motor-coach train with 2 motor-head units and 3 intermediate coaches. In accordance with the problems set, as a test vehicle the train has numerous technical innovations. From the end of 1985 an intensive test program will be undertaken with the ICE. Valuable information for the construction of the high-speed train series is expected therefrom.
