The variable discharge of powder ore mixtures with a varying binding agent content and up to 8. 5% moisture content from ore storage bins was measured. The discharge variability was found to be affected by the properties of the discharged marterial, the storage bin shape, the outlet diameter, the amount of the discharged material, and the discharging system. Based on a critical evaluation of various storage bin shapes, principles are derived which should to be adhered to in storage bin design.
