A method is proposed, termed the symmetrical condition method, in which the real mode of symmetrical supply of the machine is replaced by two computation modes - the motor and brake modes. The method stresses the parametric nature of phenomena in the stators of machines with salient-pole rotors. By use of the method new equations and equivalent circuits were obtained, permitting computation of all the characteristics of asynchronous operation of salient-pole asynchronous machines.
