Work-hardening rates and recovery rates were measured during steady-state tensile deformation at temperatures between 301 K (0. 50 T//m) and 385 K (0. 64T//m) under nominal strain-rates changing from 1. 2 multiplied by 10** minus **6 s** minus **1 to 2. 4 multiplied by 10** minus **4 s** minus **1. The activation energy for recovery is only 60% of that for steady-state deformation.
