摘要
Two computational modes for calculating the gain of the vestibulo-ocular reflex (VOR) were compared. Gain by amplitude was computed as the ratio of the waveform amplitude of the eye position signal to that of the head position signal. Gain by integration was calculated as the ratio of the waveform area bound by the eye position signal and the baseline to that of the head position signal and its baseline. The mean gains did not differ statistically significantly from each other in any of the five frequency bands used. In some tests the difference in the gain values between the two computational methods can be significant. If both methods are used simultaneously, individual comparisons can be made between the different gain results in cases suspected of technical errors, and the technically better alternative can be chosen.
