An experimental investigation was performed to investigate the local heat transfer coefficient distribution in a tube bundle in segmentally baffled tubular heat exchangers with particular attention on the segment near the inlet of the shell. The heat transfer coefficient variation along the axis of the tube was found to be negligibly small compared with the variation around the circumference of the tube.
