This report compares current an tentative seismic design provisions for two types of buildings: Letterman ARmy Hospital, and existing 10-story, reinforced concrete building located in the Presidio of San Francisco, California, whose design was based upon the Uniform Building Code and a three-story, ductile moment resistant steel frame building located in a region of high seismicity and designed as an essential building.
