摘要
Reservoirs in the nearshore environment of South Louisiana present operational and engineering problems to successful waterflooding. The uncertainties involved when estimating secondary reserves from these partial water-drive reservoirs, coupled with the high overwater installation costs, may cause certain candidates to be discarded as water-flood prospects. However, four such reservoirs have proven to be quite amenable to water injection. The common denominator of the four reservoirs is the conservative original estimate of the secondary reserves. The rather significant water production from each reservoir had clouded original reserves estimates. These successful results suggest some previously discarded water-producing reservoirs may be candidates for waterflooding.
