Saws for cutting concrete flatwork vary in size, blade type, operating speeds, cooling systems, and power source. Concrete materials differ in hardness; and, therefore, equipment and methods must be available for all types. The choice of saw and blade depends on factors other than personal reference. Presented are factors on proper equipment and selection. Cutting tips when cutting concrete flatwork are also presented. Longer saw and blade life can be achieved, along with a successful cut, by matching the material being sawed with equipment.
