Density and molar volume of some sodium silicate, lead borate and lead silicate glasses

摘要：
The density and the molar volume of different types of glasses such as sodium silicate, lead borate and lead silicate were determined to study the structure of these glasses. The density of the glasses increased while their molar volume values decreased with the increase of soda in sodium silicate or with the increase of lead oxide in lead glasses. The results obtained could be correlated to several factors such as the polarization, the field strength and the ionic radii of the different incorporated cations.
