摘要
The effects of the grouping characteristics of irregular waves to the stability of rubble mound structures are investigated by model tests using 7 kinds of simulated irregular waves which have different spectrum shapes. Various definitions of run-length and run-sum are used as a representative of grouping characteristics to discuss the destruction mechanism by the irregular waves. In the study, the run-length is defined as the number of waves that constitute a run satisfying a critical wave condition and the run-sum means the energy sum of a run. Through the comparison of design results for the conventional and the new design methods, it is verified that the new design method is reasonable and completely solves the problems in the conventional methods.
