摘要：
Recent emphasis on liquid phase epitaxy, a modification of the high temperature solution technique for crystal growing, introduces problems of reduced platinum crucible life, attack by bismuth oxide and dissolution of the platinum in leaching acids. Recommendations for handling platinum, premelting of fluxes and alloys for crucibles to reduce contamination are given.
