摘要
Problems associated with finding the right materials handling system for maximum performance at a minimum cost are considered. It is pointed out that among the systems often competing for a designer's attention are automated monorails, automated guided vehicles, and power-and-free conveyors. The advantages and disadvantages of these systems are discussed, and pertinent guidelines are outlined.
