Applicability of industrial samples of catalysts was studied in case of liquid-phase oxidation (LPO) of phenol. The tests were performed in laboratory device of autoclave type in kinetic regime. Phenol oxidation degree was judged by change of its concentration which was defined chromatographically and by chemical oxygen consumption (COC). GIPKh-108, GIPKh-105B, CuO÷γ-Al2O3 were considered to be most active samples of the catalysts. Insufficient mechanical strength and chemical stability of GIPKh-108 and CuO÷γ-Al2O3 were revealed. Complex investigation was performed and fundamentals of preparation technology of cement-containing catalysts recommended for LPO processes in case of sewage treatment were considered. Absorption mechanism of phenol on oxide catalysts was studied within the frames of donor-acceptor interactions. Data on kinetics for optimal sample of copper-cobalt-titanium-aluminium-calcium catalyst were presented.
