Several new high-temperature particulate filtration technologies for high-temperature power generation were reported. This paper shows that hot flue gas desulfurization (FGD) is another important aspect of fossil-fuel combustion for which new power generation technologies are needed. An effort to develop new hot FGD media is discussed.
