ULTIMATE STRENGTH OF SIMPLY SUPPORTED FERROCEMENT SLABS.

The paper presents test results on a variety of simple supported ferrocement panels. The results show the inter-relationship between mesh and steel reinforcement both for the strength of the panel and the mode of failure. The test results show that the failure patterns depend not only on the bending properties of the slab, but also on the membrane action that may be mobilized by large deflections.
