Polyurethane coatings (PUR) have been gaining increasing importance in the field of corrosion protection. Polyurethane coatings can be applied either as two-pack or as one-pack materials. In the latter case, moisture from the air or from the substrate serves as the other reaction partner. Polyurethane paints are among the most resistant coating materials in existence today. They are increasingly being used for the corrosion protection of steel primarily due to their binder-specific properties, which compared with conventional anti-corrosion systems, make for a more streamlined and therefore economical application process, greater reliability in application and longer life expectancy.
