摘要
A report covers the Day of the Open Door to the public at the Dana Türenindustrie Gesellschaft GmbH door company at Spital am Pyhrn, Upper Austria on a Saturday morning in the fall of 2000. There was a tour of the company including the new work area. The company manufactures 2,200 doors/day or 460,000 doors/yr and 150,000 doorframes/yr. Jointly with the Reinberg company Dana produces over a half million doors/yr. The expected turnover in 2000 is 700 million schillings. The company is the largest door manufacturer in Austria with 40% market share, In the showroom the visitors saw the CD-ROM presentation of the day by day 24 hour activity of the Dana company and how the joiners can present the types of doors they manufacture to the customers. A new 6,000 sq m hall at Dana increases company capacity for doorframes. The greater part of the machines is made by the IMA and Maka companies. By mid October 2000 the production hall will have a glue laminated beam with a span of 44 m. The company counts on a production planning system to ease production control and connect the company to the Internet and E-commerce activities. The trend in the company is from mass produced products to single piece batch production. The machine prerequisites to achieve this are expected in 2001.
