摘要
Image evaluation is effected by 'region analysis', an algorithm known per se, by means of which continuous regions of the same color in binary images are detected and characteristics or parameters are computed. For each image region, the algorithm determines nine given parameters. An image is a two-dimensional matrix (in this case 512 multiplied by 512) in which each element represents the light intensity or the grey value of a dot within the (X/Y) coordinate system. From this grey value image, a binary image is derived by means of a threshold value. To that effect, all elements exceeding the threshold value are assigned the color 'black', while the color 'white' is assigned to the remaining elements.
