The Voice Processing software packages fall into one of two categories: Application Generation Tool Kits (AGTKs) for Non-programs; and Application Generation Tool Kits (AGTKs) for programs. The implementer of a Voice Response system now has a variety of powerful AGTKs to choose from. Selection of a particular one should be driven by matching the needs and skills of the User to a particular AGTK. The packages vary considerably in the capabilities that they provide but they all have one thing in common - they make it possible to create an interactive voice response application with a minimum of time and effort.
