摘要
Industrial production of vinyl chloride gives rise to considerable amounts of hydrocarbons with high chlorine content. The only method of destruction hitherto used for wastes from vinyl chloride manufacture is the burning of these products. Another procedure is to oxidize the waste products catalytically in a way similar to the ordinary oxychlorination process of producing vinyl chloride. With this oxidation method chlorine is recycled and can be reused in the process. An investigation was made to recover hydrogen chloride by alternative means. The results are reported.
