摘要
A handmade metal tongue bolted to the inside of a hydrant coupling is a convenient way to divert water from a hydrant. The diverter-tongue, which takes about an hour to construct, dissipates the energy of the water's flow by directing the flow up, out, and away from the hydrant in a powerful spray. © 1981 American Water Works Association.
