摘要
A study has been made into the possiblity of dividing the number of slots used per pole per phase into three segments or more and the effectiveness of this division on the distribution factor, for the purpose of harmonic reduction is compared with the fundamental. The effect of segmenting phase winding on slot-leakage inductance for a two-layer chorded winding is studied. General expressions have been derived for computing the displacement factors of three- and five-segment phase windings. It is shown that the effect of dividing the number of slots used per pole per phase into three or five segments reduces harmonics specially for high values of q used in turbo-alternators. The method given, based on segmenting phase winding, is applicable to air-gap windings, used in turbo-alternators with large air-gap, in which a single layer winding is used to avoid short-circuit forces between the upper and lower layers.
