A pilot plant was constructed in the scale of 1:20,000. The aeration basin of this pilot plant has a volume of 2 m**3. The waste water is taken from the main sewer running to the main treatment plant under construction in Vienna. The possibilities for the control of dissolved oxygen and the mixed liquor suspended solids in the aeration basin are studied at this pilot plant.
