摘要
As modern combustion engines are developed to improve their overall efficiency and powder/weight ratio, designers are looking for innovations in materials and assembly technology. The Manganese Bronze Powder Metal Group in conjunction with Rosau/Rexnord developed new sintered valve seat inserts which can be mechanically locked into aluminum cylinder heads for new internal combination engines or which can be used as replacement valve seats in remanufactured engines. The article describes the various types of valve seat materials under development and illustrates the method used for mechanical locking into cylinder heads.
