Raw water quality at Wazirabad and Okhla reservoirs in Delhi

Delhi draws its raw water from Wazirabad and Okhla reservoirs on the river Jamuna. Water samples from these two reservoirs were collected and examined over a period of two years to determine the seasonal variation in physico-chemical and bacteriological quality. It was observed that the pollution in the river increases progressively between Wazirabad and Okhla due to the discharge of waste water at several points.
