摘要：

The author reviews the basic physical principles and applications of Auger spectroscopy, with particular reference to the commercial development of Auger electron spectroscopy and its use in metallurgy during the past ten years. The main metallurgical uses discussed here include the study of intergranular segregations, investigations in powder metallurgy and sintering, as well as studies of surface oxidation, and the adhesion of coatings on metal.
