摘要
The preliminary experiments have been performed to determine momentum transfer and mass removal in fiber-reinforced composite materials irradiated with a Nd:glass laser. The materials used are unidirectional glass fiber composite, random glass fiber composite and unidirectional carbon fiber composite. The Nd:glass laser had a pulse width of 500 mu s and the laser flux was varied in the range (1 minus 5) multiplied by 10**9 W/m**2. The measurements showed that for all the materials studied, the momentum coupling coefficient varies linearly with the laser intensity while the specific mass removal is independent of the laser intensity.
