摘要
A low-frequency variable electrical field reduces the selectivity of cellulose acetate or glass membranes with respect to electrolyte solutions and does not affect the separation of nonelectrolyte solutions. This raises the possibility of controlling separation processes of mixtures of electrolytes and nonelectrolytes. An acceleration of the failure of membranes upon passage of an electric current is noted.
