This paper deals with materials for high temperature application, beginning with transformable low-alloy creep-resistant steels and 12%-chromium steels as well as austenitic steels. Materials such as X5NiCrTi2615 and X10NiCrAlTi3220 were also investigated. The production of these steels differs depending on the requirements placed on material properties and surface quality. A knowledge of the transformation behavior of the steels is necessary to enable manufacturing these products satisfactorily as well as to carry out the proper heat treatment in order to obtain the desired properties.
