摘要
A review has been made on development of technologies concerning welding and steel making and also on changes in requirements for structural integrity. The purpose is to understand how the development of welding technology has affected progress in steel making processes and especially that in chemical composition. The improvement of steel has been made in some cases to raise base metal properties but mostly to minimize the degradation of various properties at its weld heat affected zone (HAZ).
