摘要
Electroless nickel-plating solutions contain a delicate balance of chemicals. If the bath is overstabilized, the deposition rate decreases or deposition ceases. If the bath is understabilized, spontaneous decomposition can occur. The author shows how a thorough understanding of the system insures sucessful operation of electroless nickel baths. Specifically, it is explained how to maintain bath control and purity, how to make chemical additions at operating temperature, and how to avoid metal contaminants. The problem of inadequate surface preparation is also discussed.
