摘要
Two different approaches to the analysis of creep buckling of columns are described and evaluated. They are: 1) a numerical solution of the differential equation for large deflection analysis; and 2) a finite element method for the material and geometric nonlinearities. An approximate energy method is also employed to evaluate the critical buckling time. The discussion presented underlines the basic divergences in existing solutions.
