摘要
A new method is suggested for calculating the forces exerted on power-plant pipes by transients, in particular, changes in the fluid pressure. The method is most efficient for transients with frequencies of less than 20 Hz which are those most frequently encountered in practice. Previous methods could not be used at these relatively high frequencies. Given the fact that inlet pressure fluctuations of 0. 1 to 0. 2 percent from the mean induce flowrate fluctuations of up to 25 percent, allowance for the effect of these transients is a necessity.
