Tests were carried out on nine diffusion couples consisting of five different Ni-Cr-B - Si-Fe-Mn hard facing alloys and steel or cast iron substrates. This combination is used commercially for production of preforming gages in hollow glassware manufacture. The results show a clear dependence of diffusion coefficients on the concentration of each alloy element, annealing temperature, and matrix composition. Data are plotted.
