RECO is a time redundancy technique which has been proposed for concurrent error detection in Carry Save - Add Shift (CSAS) serial-parallel multiplier. Such this technique is used in this paper for concurrent error detection of a modified fast serial-parallel (MFSP) multiplier. This multiplier is proposed to increase the speed of the fast serial parallel (FSP) multiplier by using fast parallel adder instead of the parallel ripple carry adder. The error detection capability of the RECO technique applied to the proposed multiplier is discussed. Also, the error performance and fault coverage is studied through computer simulation.
