A METHOD FOR COST-EFFECTIVE DESIGN OF BRAKES IS SUGGESTED. CALCULATIONS AND TEST RESULTS RELATING TO AN INTEGRAL BRAKE FOR THE SERIES 4A INDUCTION MOTORS WITH SHAFT CENTER HEIGHT OF 71, 80 AND 90 MM ARE GIVEN.
