SIGMUS is a system written in STANDARD FORTRAN IV which may be used to generate simulators in the form of STANDARD FORTRAN IV programs for arbitrary multiprocessor systems. In particular, the following characteristics distinguish SIGMUS from similar developments: simulation of parallel processes of any type and simulation of system models of any abstraction level are possible; effectivity optimization through selection options between runtime-bound, memory space-bound and statistics-bound sumulator variants is offered. In analogy to real systems consisting of modules, the generated simulation systems consist of simulators for these modules. Real subsystems may be connected to the simulators.
