摘要:
Railroad vegetation control can be divided into five separate programs: bridges, yards, road crossings, line-of-road, and brush control. Among these categories, line-of-road weed control herbicide testing was undertaken at three Indiana locations in 1984. The investigations dealt with local weeds as well as three specific species. Herbicides were applied in broadcast postemergence treatment, at a volume of 30-gallons water per acre. The experimental design was a randomized complete block with four replicates. Plots, 0. 05 acre in size, were treated with a track-mounted sprayer equipped with Raindrop RD-2 nozzles on a 24-inch spacing. This article discusses the test program and results, including unexpected interactions, for broadleaf and other species.
