A nonlinear analytical model based on the principles of the Continuum Damage Mechanics is developed for the stress-strain behavior of fiber reinforced concrete (or mortar) subjected to monotonic compressive and tensile loading. An equilibrium equation derived from a parallel bar arrangement of the composite material, coupled with the damage laws of the composite and the fibers, form the basis of this model. Stress-strain curves generated from this model are compared to those acquired from experimental data.
